Liberty Construction Services has extensive experience working in the education sector. Our project teams understand the importance of time management and working within schedule restraints specific to colleges and institutions. Whether our project teams are providing general requirements support for new construction or performing specific scopes on renovation work performed during summer breaks, Liberty’s teams are able to adapt to specific needs of each project, and minimize disruption to student life. Liberty had performed work on the Northeastern University Campus, as well as Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Curry College, Dartmouth College, UMass Dartmouth, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
This new 220,000 square-foot, 17-story student housing project includes demolition of an existing gymnasium block and two bridges. New construction will limit impact to and complement both the historic Hastings Wing and YMCA Administration Building.
The Northeastern GrandMarc project is a very interesting project that Liberty Construction Services has been involved with throughout the entire construction process. This project involved the separation of mechanical systems in a Historic building along Huntington Ave, followed by the demolition of a large section of that building to allow for the construction of a new dorm building. The remaining portion of the existing structure was renovated and tied-in to the new tower. A large part of this renovation involved Liberty Carpenters reworking historic millwork, trim and paneling to be reused in the new space.
